New England Woodworking designs and builds beautiful custom furniture....
The furniture designs range in style and purpose, and
are made according to the customers preferences using fine materials
that are not used in mass produced furniture. Featured hardwoods include
Cherry, Walnut, Maple and Oak.
Furniture pieces may range from an ensemble or a single item whose style
or functionality is not commercially available. In some cases, the
customer may have specific functionality requirements, but does not want
to sacrifice the harmony with their existing decor. An example of this
is the birdcage, also known as an aviary, is shown at the right. The
aviary was designed according to the owners tastes and needed
functionality.
The aviary is...
-
Constructed from solid cherry hardwood with cabriole legs, then finished in 'Tried-and-True' hand rubbed oil finish. This finish has been used for over 200 hundred years and is proven to be safe and easy to maintain.
-
Table base contains Formica inset panel for easy clean up and has a removable plastic tray that slides out the front of the cage.
-
Typical cages have galvanized wire which will not last and can create an unsafe environment for the birds. This cage wire is made of 1/2" by 1" heavy guage stainless steel that is safe for the birds and will last a lifetime.
-
Case construction includes mitered frames to keep the appearance simple but traditional. The access doors are constructed with interlocking stile and rail and lock. The sturdy frame is caged on 5 sides and reinforced on top, to support a heavy, curious cat.
